Preparing for a Tournament

If this is your first season as an NFJG parent, here are answers to some commonly asked questions.

How do I know what tournaments my son/daughter is signed up to play in?   Under the Player Information tab is a player list that will have a yes by all of the dates that you checked on the application.  Please check this to make sure it is correct.

What if we need to withdraw from an event? Please let our tournament staff know as soon as possible by leaving a voice mail and sending an email to the tournament director.  You will find this information on the Contact Us tab under About NFJG.  Players can withdraw from any future events at any tournament at the registration table.  We encourage all players to check this book every week to make sure they are listed properly.

How do I know what tee time my son/daughter has for an event?   During the summer, tee times are posted on the web site by Thursday prior to a Monday event.  You will find this information under the NEXT TOURNAMENT tab at the top of the web site.  There will also be directions to the course.

What time should we arrive at the course?   We will have practice balls available for the players 30 minutes prior to the first tee time.  Please give your son/daughter enough time to get to the course, register and practice before their tee time.  We recommend 1 hour if possible, but please no less than 30 minutes.  Always give yourself time to get through any guard gates.

Where does my son/daughter check in? All players are required to check in IN PERSON at the red registration tent located near the driving range or putting green.  Parents may not check in their son/daughter.  It is the players responsibility to let us know they are checked in.

Am I allowed to follow my son/daughter while they play?   Yes, parents and spectators are welcome to follow along at events.  However, please read the spectator guidelines before doing so.  Parents may only view play from a distance and may not caddie or give advice.  Parents may help look for golf balls, but may not give any rulings.  Spectators should also not hold up the groups behind them by watching from too far back.  Spectator carts are not permitted, so plan to wear comfortable shoes.
