Divisions

The Tour is divided into three levels in order to provide a more competitive environment for junior players within their skill set.  Below are general guidelines for each division where the yardage and difficulty are adjusted based on skill and scoring.

Level I:  Is an 18 hole competitive playing division and will contain three sub-age groups, 12-13, 14-15, and 16-18.  The field will be a maximum of 85 players.  Players in Level I play yardages from 5800 to 7000 yards depending on their age group.  The girls play from 4600 to 6100 yards.  Scoring averages for Level I are 85 and under.  Players must initially qualify to play in Level I at the Summer Season Qualifier.  Returning players in this Division will be drafted by their previous summer season scoring averages.

Level II:  Is an 18 hole competitive playing division and will contain three sub-age groups, 12-13, 14-15, and 16-18.  The field will be a maximum of 96 players.  Players in Level II play yardages from 5000 to 6600 yards depending on their age group.  The girls play from 4600 to 5400 yards.  Scoring averages for Level II are from 85 to 95.  All new players must attend qualifying.  Returning players from Level II may either remain in Level II or try to qualify for Level I.

Level III:  Is a 9 hole competitive playing division consisting of players aged 10-11, 12-13 & 14-15.  Players in Level III will be mentored throughout the season to prepare them for Level I and II.  In Level III they are introduced to the rules of competitive play where they are closely monitored by Golf Professionals and Tournament Experts.   *Players under the age of 10 may attend qualifying to be considered for placement in the 9-hole division only.  They must be able to carry their bag, have a basic knowledge of the rules of golf and must be able to keep their own score plus another players score on their own.  It is at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director.  Every effort will be made to accommodate serious junior players under the age of 10.

Medals and Points

The top 3 finishers each week in each playing division by age group will receive medals.  In the event of ties, we will follow the USGA Recommended Guideline using a Match of Cards where by the winner is based on the best score for the back nine holes.  If there is still a tie, then the back 6 and back 3 totals then the last hole will be used until the tie is broken.  A hole by hole play-off may be used when possible.

Points are awarded in each age division, based on how each player finishes in the field for each event, each week.

  • The Points list will be used to determine eligibility for the St. John's County Invitational, the Match Play Event and for the end of season awards.
  • The Points list is a modified version of the TPC Money List (minus some zero's!)
  • Level I points will be awarded first.  Level II points will start right after the last place Level I points in each division, then followed by Level III.
  • In the event of ties, players will split points.  (Example:  Two players tie for first place, first and second place points are added together and divided between the two players).
